Brook is raring to go for the 2016 season and starts at Tweseldown with the ON. He has now qualified for 2* so our plan is to get a couple under our belt this season after a few OI runs. It all seems very scary and real now that we have qualified and the new season is fast approaching. Trips to the gallops are now back on the radar and I can’t wait to get going again - Sorrel

Sorrel bought a very large, thin and sad racehorse from Ascot sales last year who she has been quietly producing over the last few months.

He has now put on lots of condition and muscle and looks like he should be in the Grand National! She has high hopes for him and he follows her around the yard like a large pet. According to Sorrel he is going to be fantastic!

We have been asked to use our GoPro footage of the gallops for this year’s GoPro advert so we will be able to see Brooky and Sorrel on TV soon along with Happy’s ears as I was doing the filming.  Excitingly, Sorrel has been doing some riding for an upcoming movie, she has been riding for some of the battle scenes - watch this space. Up N Go had his first outing to Rackham Horse Trials BE100. Sorrel was thrilled with him. He had one down SJ and clear XC.

Heazabrook is raring to go but everything  he enters gets cancelled. Farley Hall was the latest one lost due to the weather so both Hezabrook and Up N Go now head straight to Barbury International

July 2016

Sorrel and Hezabrook clear inside the time at Barbury International Horse Trials - they moved up 21 places after a very influential cross country track that caused quite a few problems.

Sorrel and Up N Go were clear
at Eridge.

Both horses now head to
Aston Le Walls for the OI and ON.

Joao Duarte Silva has moved into the yard with his 3 horses. He competed at
Badminton 4* in the Spring and rides for Portugal. He is now available for lessons and schooling most days.

September 2016

Up N Go is on flying form and has been clear at pretty much every event he has entered so far with Sorrel. He was also 10th with Jonny in the ON at Aston when Sorrel was off with a rib injury.

Brooky is having a slightly quieter season than anticipated due to the very hard ground but we are planning to get him out for the autumn events.

Jonny came 5th in the Advanced at Aston with Xaft and 10th in the Advanced at Wellington. He was 5th with Bocage at Smiths Lawn Novice with a lovely double clear.

Jonny now heads to the Event Rider Masters at Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials.

November 2016

April 2017

On April 18th Sorrel’s father Gordon Pirie, passed away very suddenly while travelling on business in America. Gordon was Sorrel’s biggest supporter at events and his loss has been felt hugely. He had photos of her eventing all over his house and watched most of the events when he was in the country.  Sorrel still wears the stock pin that he gave her for her 14th Birthday at every event.

July 2017

Up N Go has been going brilliantly and is now qualified OI. Hezabrook has been back out at ON and went really well. Ease on Fire jumped a double clear with Lucy Blain around her first 100. Baragway brought home a third place from Parwood BS with Lucy Blain and Rob Trobridge has won both of his BD dressage competitions in the last two weeks with Constancia Caesar.  Sorrel has bought a new horse, Kilclogher Venture from Shane Walsh Equestrian who she is planning on competing towards the end of the season.

Sorrel contributed greatly to this research paper and this can now be downloaded on the FEi website.  It has now been developed into a mandatory course for all FEI officials.

June 2018

Sorrel and Midnight Ash have jumped clear XC at every event they’ve entered so far. Courtney and Destino Bello jumped clear at Tweseldown Intermediate and then jumped clear around Tattersalls CCI2* giving them their much deserved 3* qualifying result.

Knockavardagh Boy has joined Sorrel’s team and his first event will be Tweseldown.
