I moved my horse to Pentire in August last year and also become part of the Pentire team in October last year.

I am continually impressed by the time, thought and effort that goes into keeping the facilities in outstanding condition for both the liveries and their horses. Pentire really sets itself aside as a place for both amateurs and professionals to base and progress whilst enjoying their horses is a relaxed, friendly yet professional environment.

We moved to the yard in September 2011 and the great facilities confirmed we made the right decision. From day one the yard welcomed us with their friendly and peaceful manner. The yard advertises many great facilities which all live up to their expectations. The 40x60m arena gives me plenty of room for test riding and even makes day to day riding an even more pleasurable experience with any riding exercise being possible because of so much space. The hot shower and solarium also ensure my horse can go to shows in tip top condition. The yard caters for all abilities and all disciplines with a wide range of knowledge from staff and other professional riders. Weather you are just a happy hacker or compete to a serious level in any discipline the yard welcomes everyone and adapts to all needs. Any requests made to the staff is never too much hassle and they will adjust routines to every horses needs; the horses health and welfare at the main priority of the staff. The all year turn out has benefited my horses mood making him more relaxed and happier and with the on site training facilities since being at the yard my horses way have going has improved immensely. Pentire Sports Horses ticks all the right boxes when looking for a livery yard great facilities, a friendly atmosphere, knowledgeable staff and the opportunity to improve both yours and your horses ability.

We moved our daughter’s pony to Pentire in February 2011 to follow a fairly structured rehabilitation programme.  Sorrel was extremely accommodating in agreeing on a specific package to meet our requirements. The move was intended to be temporary six weeks only… However during this time not only did we see our much loved pony make tremendous progress, but our daughter also gained much confidence, being surrounded by supportive friendly staff,  hence we are still with Sorrel and her team 14 months later!! The yard is professional, but ultimately still very friendly, with many years of collective experience providing much knowledge if required.  We also find it so easy not having to travel for any professional Equine Services required, as Pentire have regular visits from Equine Specialists. The yard also has the added benefit of excellent on-site training available if desired.  The facilities are great and the atmosphere relaxed. We are so grateful to Sorrel and her team for making us so welcome!!

I moved my horses to Pentire in November 2009 and I cannot praise them highly enough. I have found them to be a friendly yet professional yard with excellent facilities. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a 5* Yard on which to keep their horses. Sorrel and her staff are extremely knowledgeable and I know that everything will be done to ensure the health and welfare of my horses on a daily basis.  There is a happy and relaxed yet professional atmosphere on the yard where everyone is made to feel welcome. I have been riding and keeping horses all my life, some of my horses have been at livery and some have been living at home.  I have to say that Sorrel's yard is the best I have come across in the last 30 years.  Sorrel runs a very professional, yet friendly, yard, and she will always be on hand either at the yard or you can text or telephone her.  She takes time with new clients to talk through both the requirement and needs of both owner and horse and will build a livery and price package to suit.  The yards have high quality, large internal stables, the superb outdoor school is always regularly maintained, as is the horse walker,  all the paddocks are well fenced and always clean and weed-free. Her staff are always friendly yet courteous and are proficient at their jobs.  At the moment I have a large 17.3" Dutch warmblood dressage horse who can be quite sensitive, but in Sorrel's hands he is very calm and happy because she has tailored a livery package to suit him.  I am due to move house in the Spring, and am looking forward to taking my remaining three horses to Sorrel because I know they will get the best attention.  I do not hesitate in recommending Pentire Sport Horses at Lillymill Farm for anyone who wants their horse to have the best livery.

“I compete at Intermediate BE, Elementary/Medium BD and Fox hunter BSJA, and I'm aiming to do a 2* and Young Rider European trials in 2009 during my gap year. I've been at Sorrel's yard since April 07 when i moved in to the area.
During the season, I keep my horse fit by doing interval training (666-777) at all-weather gallops 10 minutes away and by using the on-site walker daily.
The size of the rubber school allows me to comfortably practise a 60x20 test, and the closeness of the yard to competitions like Wellington has helped me get my dressage from 55% to 72%.
We're within 20 minutes of Tweseldown, so i can do xc practise and cantering on a  surface for only £20, which saves my horses legs. I also try to go to Hoplands which is 40 minutes away for BSJA, or just to hire the facilities- a massive school that always has a course up.
Having these facilities and competitions so close had all worked towards the way Maisy looks at the moment- she had a foal in 2007 summer, and she's now back to doing Intermediates and a 1* which I could never have done in 9 months without the training and careful preservation!”
